Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower was released 40 years ago this week. Since then, it's been given a number of treatments, including an Animated All Along the Watchtower.

I didn't mean to take up all your sweet time,
I'll give it right back to you one of these days.

Rolling Stones - 2120 South Michigan Avenue
The home of the former Chess Studio in Chicago. The tune is, I think, the only Rolling Stones' instrumental.

Live Aid 1985
Feed the world. (All links )
- It's been too easy to forget just how good a singer and a performer Freddie Mercury was.
- The U2 Bad set was great, as was Sunday, Bloody Sunday, even if the video clip was backwards.
- The wonderful arrogance that was The Who. Each band had 20 minutes for its set. Pete Townshend put his boot heel through the light that was signaling the end of their allotted time.
- Ozzy!
- Neil Young solo, looking like he's in a bus station, but he's not sure which one.
- Even if the tight harmonies of the Beach Boys don't hold up over the years and out of the studio, it's still good stuff.
- Where else will you find Chrissie Hynde, Joan Baez, and Marie Osmond sharing a microphone?

Alabama 3 - Exile on Coldharbor Lane
I first heard Woke up this Morning, theme song for The Sopranos, in a Tower Record store in Seattle in the late 90s. I bought the CD and listened to it over and over on the plane ride home.
